Do you want to get a taste of combining a joyful sense of adventure and physical activity? Of providing room for pupils to experiment and see how real cooperation transforms the group’s behaviour?

In this workshop we offer an insight into the methodology and the didactical approach of initiative games and experiential learning activities to add them to your repertoire of adventure-based learning curriculum. A cooperative, supportive atmosphere helps to increase mutual support within a group. All equipment used in this workshop - if there is any - is easy to organise.

Raphaela Helena Blassnig has been working with pupils in Austria and around Europe getting them out of the classroom, doing outdoor education for over 5 years. She is a lead trainer in a one-year training course on leadership with outdoor education methods for youth leaders, teachers and social workers. She works as a facilitator and process designer who creates meaningful learning spaces for teams. She believes in and supports the potential and strength of each individual of a group and creates safe learning spaces for a group preferably outdoors in nature.

She is inspired by the holistic approach of “learning with the heart, hand and the mind”, the healing power of nature and the way of Council.

Raphaela has been working in school projects with the company “Freiraum” since 2008. Freiraum (www.dieprojektwoche.at) organises projects for schools based in nature or in cities all over Austria and Europe. For the past 13 years Freiraum has organised the annual outdoor education week with Vienna International School where students experience the power of teamwork in experiential learning situations, in the beautiful mountains of Styria.

Participants  will receive a certificate and 0,5 ETCS points.
